Big Brother in our current society I think is kinda like our government. I don't think we really have as much freedom as we believe we do. The government watches everything we do and has control over everything. Its kinda scary when you think about everything they control. Even all these theories about government intervention like 9/11 are kinda scary. I guess we do give up a lot of freedom for safety but if we had less dictation would we in turn be safer?
I'm kind of confused by your question, I think it was your dictation haha. Anyway, I'm not sure what word you were looking for, but I don't think we are as unsafe as the government makes it out to be. I understand that after 9/11 we need to take more precautions when it comes to what is taken on planes, but when it takes you 3 hours to get halfway through airport security because they are checking every crevice of your body, then it's getting a bit ridiculous. This also only increases the fear and suspicions of others. They get on planes in fear if they see a Muslim in the next row. We need to calm it down. Just because there is more precautionary measures, doesn't mean people feel any safer.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the government has alot more control than society even knows about. I'm a criminal justice major, and I have learned a little about how much information the FBI, Justic Department, and the Homeland Security Department (created after 9/11), and they can find more information on individuals than we or I even can know. It doesn't matter if you didn't do anything wrong either they can pick you out if they are even the slight bit curious. If a murder happens in a city, you damn well better realize that criminal background check with most likely investigate a 1-2 mile radius or more. This makes those people targets too, that target could be you!
ReplyDeleteI related Big Brother to our modern day technology. Through our technology we have access to so many different things and can learn so much about another person without even meeting them. The government itself can obtain such information via technology.
